My mother and I absolutely loved our experience with Hudson Wren from start to finish. Communication was professional, friendly, and clear, and they provided us with all the information we needed to be prepared for the day, including helpful outfit ideas for black-and-white photographs.
If you’re shy or unsure whether you’ll enjoy having professional photos taken of you, this company is definitely for you. Their photographer was so friendly, welcoming, and fantastic at posing us. She made us laugh and feel comfortable throughout the entire shoot, which made the experience so much more enjoyable than we expected.
The follow-up photo selection and ordering process was both fun and seamless. We are beyond happy with our photos and cannot wait to receive our prints in the mail!

We had such a wonderful experience with Hudson & We had such a fun photoshoot as part of the Dogs and Humans photo session! My two very anxious rescue dogs were excited and the photos turned out so cute! We're looking forward to have a new centerpiece with our two favourite beings on our wall. (Be prepared to invest in prints or digital after the session, they are quality but a significant cost.)
Alex and team were communicative and made the experience fun and easy. All were professional, warm and great to work with. Overall a very positive experience.

I had a wonderful experience with Hudson Wren Portraits capturing moments with my sweet girl, Hope.
The entire process was easy and thoughtfully guided from start to finish. The photographer was incredibly patient and kind with Hope, allowing her to settle in while gently guiding us through poses. The studio felt warm and professional, and I felt confident the whole time.
The photo reveal was great. The images captured our connection beautifully, especially in black and white, and they made choosing my favourites feel simple and supportive with all my questions and thoughts.
This session means even more to me now, as it holds some of the last moments I had with my girl. A truly meaningful keepsake.

A timeless gift I’ll treasure forever
I cannot thank Hudson Wren and the team enough for the gift they gave me through this portrait session. These were the final professional photos of my beloved dog, Espresso, who was with me for 14 years and saw me through every chapter of life including becoming a mother.
The care, patience, and kindness they showed during the session allowed my son and Espresso to simply be no forced poses, just genuine moments of connection. What they captured was more than a photo. It was a living memory. The image of my son curled beside our dog Espresso in that beautiful chair is one I will cherish forever.

AMAZING WITH KIDS - I came in for portraits to their Victoria location with my 2 1/2 year old. At first he was super shy and crying, but my photographers were so skilled at working with little kids that before long they got him playing with toys, laughing, smiling and we had an INCREDIBLE session, with outfit and set changes and tons of creative ideas from the photographers. I wish I could give them 10 stars! Really, these guys know what they are doing and are high level, fine art, artistic professionals who will give you a stunning perspective of your most precious relationships. The results were beyond my wildest dreams.

I recently had a family pet photo session at Hudson Wren Photography, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the photographer was incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially towards our dog.
What made the session truly special was the shared love of music. The photographer and I bonded over our mutual appreciation for metal music, which created a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. We even listened to music during the session, which helped our dog feel comfortable and made the whole experience more fun.

We’re repeat clients of Hudson Wren, and our second experience even surpassed our first, which was 6 years ago. Iris was our photographer, and I will rave about her until I’m blue in the face. She was just incredible - she made everyone feel comfortable and at ease, which translates into the photos. You see REAL smiles. Neither my husband nor I are keen on getting in front of the camera, but Iris captured some of the most beautiful photos of our family. Be prepared to cry when you see your slideshow of images during your ordering date. I’m still crying thinking about them all. Picking the best ones is the hardest part, but they are truly an investment that are worth every penny. Put it this way — if my house was on fire these photos will be coming with me!

We always felt supported, and there was always someone available to answer any questions we had along the way.
The materials they provide to prepare us for the shoot and ordering session were amazing and so incredibly helpful. Our photographer, Natasha, was exceptional. She was incredibly patient with us, especially since our dog was a bit nervous in the studio. Despite that, she captured amazing images that truly reflected our personality. The posing was effortless, and the prompts she gave to us made the session feel natural and relaxed.
Every detail was thoughtfully covered at each step. The Zoom ordering session was a highlight too, and Tamara was fantastic at helping us narrow down our favorites. We were blown away by how the photos turned out.

I just had my photo review of my session to pick my prints. I went in thinking there wouldn't be much to choose from as it was a bit of a chaotic session with my cat. I thought he would be more chill but he just wanted to run around doing his own thing and I just felt like I was holding him down the whole time and being distracted by that. Well let me tell you, I was blown away! Amazing photographer to capture what she did. There were so many good shots it was quite difficult to pick the ones I did for the package I chose. Amazing experience. Tamra did my Zoom call and she was so lovely and listened with compassion to my life story and motivation for doing the shoot. I really am blown away and I highly recommend considering your next family or pet portrait session with them. Worth every penny! Thank you Hudson Wren for this incredible opportunity and experience.

Hudson Wren gave my daughter and I such an amazing experience. Our photo shoot was full of laughs and they even let my daughter pick some of the poses she wanted. The pictures turned out better than I could have imagined. They captured our relationship perfectly. They also considered cost and worked with me so I could take home all my favourites. My dog and I went for our portraits and I’m not gonna lie - He was a little bit over the top, but Natasha was able to capture not only his beauty, but his goofiness. I’ve just seen the portraits today and they are beautiful. I could almost cry the way they captured us together. Even the treats they gave to my dog at the end were top-notch. I am most pleased to report that there was no pushy sales. I got exactly what I wanted. If you’re thinking of family or pet portraits - this is the company to book with.

Hudson Wren was wonderful to deal with—the communication was very much on point, they were accommodating and efficient despite a kerfuffle with us being a bit later to our session than we’d hoped due to Pride Parade/lack of parking! I used Hudson and Wren in 2023 to document my sweet pups ( my profile picture is a testament to this). We came back in 2026 with the whole family for another session in a different studio because we moved. From the onset of organizing the shoot, taking the photos and going through our favorites the process is seamless and beautiful. This was super fun to experience! Everybody has been very kind and thorough with their work, and their pictures are gorgeous. The venue was super funky and clean, and my dog was very comfortable. The prices are on the higher side, so you want to make sure it will be within your budget if you want to work with Hudson Wren, but aside from that, 5/5 would recommend! Thanks Hudson Wren!

I am incredibly impressed with the results of our photo session with 1 human and 2 cats. I genuinely didn’t think it was possible to get good photos of all 3 of us but Hudsen Wren proved me wrong! It felt as chaotic at the time as you might expect trying to wrangle 2 cats at once but the photographer was very patient and the end result speaks for itself! The pre-session guide really helped explain what to prepare ahead of time and they were very responsive to any and all questions, even gave me some advice on the outfit to wear. The photographer was very patient with letting me try to wrangle 2 scared cats and was flexible with going at their pace and changing set ups and positions as needed. And the photo selection session made it so much easier to pick out and compare photos afterward but it was very hard to choose!

This is my second photo session with Hudson Wren and it’s always a pleasure and fun to come to the studio. I have never enjoyed getting my photo taken but they make me feel comfortable and even the cats were agreeable to this shoot (Chewie more than Loki). Highly recommend Hudson and love the black and white photos.
